2.What we collect, why and who sees it
- Enquiries: the details you give us, such as your name, company, email address, phone number, collection postcode and message, so we can reply and quote. Lawful basis: taking steps you ask for before a contract, or our legitimate interest in replying.
- Security: your IP address and browser details, which every website receives, to show you this website and stop misuse of it and of the enquiry form. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
- Visit counts: see section 3. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in improving this website.
- Legal duties: anything the law requires us to keep. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
You don't have to give us your details, but we need them to reply. Customer Portal sign-in details go straight to the portal; this website does not keep them.
We never sell your information, and share it only with other Freightroute Group companies, authorities where the law requires, and the providers who run this website and our email or deliver its fonts and maps (which receive your IP address). If any of it is handled outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards approved under UK law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contract clauses - ask us for details.
3.Cookies and visit counts
This website doesn't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. It only keeps a few small items in your browser so it works properly: that you have seen the cookie notice, a copy of the website's text so pages open quickly, the times of enquiries sent from your browser (to stop misuse of the form), and your choice if you switch visit counting off. None of them identifies you, and clearing your browser's data for this site deletes them. If you play a video from a video site here, that site may set its own cookies.
We count visits ourselves, without cookies and without recording your IP address or anything you type: the pages viewed, for how long and how far down, the type of device and browser, the website that linked here, and the buttons and links used (such as sending an enquiry, signing in or downloading a document). Visits are not counted if your browser sends a "Global Privacy Control" or "Do Not Track" signal.
Visits are only counted when JavaScript is switched on.
4.How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 24 months. If you become a customer, as long as our work together and the law require.
- Visit counts: about 13 months.
- Information used to stop misuse of the enquiry form: deleted within a day.
- Anything else: no longer than we need it for the reasons above.
5.Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, or for a copy to take elsewhere. Contact us using the details in section 1.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
